Abstract

This study presents a systematic and comprehensive method for determining, calibrating, and validating the parameters of the RHT material model for concrete. The proposed method is based on the integration of extensive experimental data including uniaxial, triaxial, Brazilian, and dynamic compression tests with advanced numerical simulations developed in LS-DYNA software. Key model parameters, especially damage parameters such as D1, D2, and EPM, which are very challenging to determine analytically, were optimized through an iterative and systematic calibration process. The validation results showed that the calibrated model is able to accurately predict the behavior of concrete under static and dynamic loads with remarkable accuracy. Comprehensive validation of the model under different loading conditions confirmed its ability to accurately simulate tensile and shear failure patterns as well as the effect of confining parameters. This study not only provides a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of the RHT model, but also provides a practical and reliable framework for concrete engineering applications under complex loading conditions. The findings of this research can be used as a valid reference for future studies in the field of concrete behavior modeling.
