Abstract

Solid rocket motors are propulsion devices for both satellite launchers and missiles. Wich require guidance and steering to fly along a programmed trajectory and to comensate for flight disturbances. In most solid rocket motor. Thrust vector control (TVC) is required.one of the most efficeient methods of TVC is flexible nozzle system. The flexible nozzle consists of a flexible joint made of an elastometric material alternating with reinforcement rigns of metallic material. In this paper nonlinear simulation of flexible joint developed. The flexible joint is the most widely used device in modern nozzle.to obtain reliable design and reduce development risk nonlinear finite element analysis was performed to simulate the flexible joint structural behavior in bench test conditions. The analysis predictions show good agreement with the test. Considering the importance of geometric parameters, the effect of changing geometric parameters on the flexible joint behavioral behavior has been investigated with the help of finite element method, and a suitable flexible joint design has been proposed with the help of changing geometric dimensions with considering different input parameters.
